I went to visit my friend, Jan in Santa Cruz. We decided to go to the Santa Cruz Monarch butterfly monarch butterfly grove.
We walked down the path to see the swarm of Monarch butterflies resting .
On our walk back I heard a cry for help. The little voice kept yelling help, help, I looked around to see in the field of dried grass, a big spider running to eat his lunch. A monarch butterfly was trapped in his web, she was crying for help. Jan and I went into action with our sticks removing the spun web from our little Monarch butterfly. We had to act fast to remove the web from her tender wings as the spider was climbing down his web to eat his catch. We were able to set free the butterfly just in time. She flew off with a big thank you as she flew to freedom. Another critter saved.
